Why We Made Cyder
Cyborg Dynamics Engineering has been a robotics integration leader since 2019. Throughout this time, we've observed a recurring challenge in the industry: progress in advanced robotics is often hampered by persistent low-level hardware issues such as wiring harness reliability and embedded system faults. Time and again we have witnessed companies developing bespoke solutions to solve the same basic problems. The result is a mixture of off the shelf components (often not fit-for-purpose), strapped together with large, complicated wiring looms where a single failure can bring the system to a halt.
When these problems arise, engineers are left wondering whether they are chasing down a bug in a driver or a loose crimp connection which often has unknown project delays. Instead, they could focus on maximizing customer value by developing autonomous navigation and control. These problems are then compounded when moving to production, where manufacturability and reliability become a major concern. We have seen the costs of these issues exceeding millions of dollars in lost productivity alone. After being through this cycle ourselves, and seeing it occur in a number of other organizations, we decided to utilize our hard-earned experience and create an ecosystem of robotics and autonomy modules that just work.
The Cyder Philosophy
The Cyder design philosophy centers on delivering modules that are exceptionally easy to use, highly reliable, and effortless to integrate. By prioritizing simplicity, our plug-and-play modules require little to no hardware expertise—just power them up and sensor data appears. Standardized connectors, pre-made cables, and robust CAN-based communication make setup intuitive and scalable. Engineered to withstand demanding electrical environments, our modules are designed to achieve automotive standards for reliability. Both standalone and embedded versions are available, with comprehensive design guidelines and software examples provided to ensure any designer can integrate our systems quickly and confidently.
